The Artist
Saša Šušteršič, Academic painter, was born in 1977 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She attended the High School of Design and Photography in Ljubljana in direction of Fashion Design. She continued her study on Academy of Fine Arts Ljubljana on department of Painting. Before graduating, she started to work at the High School for Design and Photography in Ljubljana, where she was teaching from 2000 to 2014. In 2001, she graduates with Mentor Professor Emerik Bernard.
In year 2004 she makes an Adult Education exam at the Faculty of Arts Ljubljana, Slovenia and in 2006 Proficiency exam (Ministry of Education and sport Ljubljana, Slovenia).
Between 2003 and 2007, monthly illustrations complement the songs of Janez Bitenc (Slovenian poet and song writer for children).
From 2005 to 2008 she was lecturing at the Faculty of Applied Arts Famul Stuart, Ljubljana and was also a Mentor to students at completing post-secondary program: Ambient (2006 to 2007).
In her career she was teaching in many High schools and also different art subjects: Art, History of Art, Art Education, Fine Arts, Drawing, Drawing and Painting, Painting, Presentation techniques (architectural drawing), Theory of Art (preparation for Baccalaureate), Graphic design, Industrial design, Photography design with a Composition of photography and Fundamentals of heritage protection.
She was one of authors of textbook for subjects: Drawing, Drawing and Painting for Slovenian Art High Schools (2008 to 2010) with Painters and Prof. Apolonija Simon and Karel Plemenitaš. She was a member of working groups for the Ministry of Education and Sport Slovenia, a member of the school development team and the head of a two-year (2011/2013) art project with title Bridges and aim to support all cultural development in Slovenia (on National level since 2010 to 2014). From 2009 to 2013 she was a member of State Council of High School (SŠOF Ljubljana).
She has participated in many school projects, workshops, proffesional excursions and excursions in nature.
From high school years she was part of a joint exhibition. Solo exhibitions are a regular part of her creative path from 2009 onwards.
In July 2017 she moved on Réunion and she is fully dedicating her time to painting.
